How candidates prepare for the RACGP Fellowship

RACGP KFP grader: a candidate answer marked with a score and examiner-style AI feedback
Key Feature Problems. Full marking. Every time.

The KFP is 70 clinical stems - from 2025.2, answered by selecting multiple responses from a list on a bubble sheet. PRIMEX's KFP mode takes you deeper: write your clinical reasoning in free text, and the AI marks every key feature against the model answer, identifying what you got, what you missed, and why it matters. Forces the kind of thinking that performs on the day.

  • KFP-format stems across all 33 curriculum units
  • Key feature marking: every clinical decision checked against model answer
  • Pass / Borderline / Fail tier with examiner commentary
  • Model answer for every stem at FRACGP standard
  • Timed mock: 70 stems, 4 hours
RACGP AKT MCQ practice: a graded single-best-answer question with the correct option marked and a full AI explanation
AKT-style MCQs. Both SBA and MEM formats.

Practice questions mapped to the RACGP curriculum across all AKT domains, covering both question formats in the real exam. Single Best Answer (SBA) questions have 5 options; Modified Extended Match (MEM) questions present 8-10 options to force sharper discrimination between closely related clinical choices. Full explanations for every option. Community answer distributions after each question show how other FRACGP candidates responded.

  • Both AKT formats: Single Best Answer (SBA) and Modified Extended Match (MEM)
  • MEM questions: 8-10 options that test discrimination between plausible distractors
  • Covers all three AKT domains: clinical, communication, organisational
  • Explanation for every option, including the distractors
  • Community answer distribution after each question
  • Timed mock: 150 questions, 4 hours
RACGP CCE consultation simulator setup: a case with selectable examiner conversation styles
Nine cases. Real patient, real GP room.

The CCE has 9 cases split into two types: 4 case discussions, where the examiner talks through a clinical case with you to test your reasoning, and 5 clinical encounters, where you consult with a trained role-player while an examiner observes your consultation skills. The PRIMEX simulator covers both formats, playing the patient in encounter mode and driving the dialogue in discussion mode, with marking against the CCE competency domains.

  • Both CCE formats: 4 examiner-led case discussions + 5 role-player clinical encounters
  • Voice mode: conduct the consultation by speaking, patient responds live
  • Marking against CCE domains: data gathering, clinical management, communication
  • Debrief with specific competency feedback after each case
  • Covers all presentation types: acute, chronic, preventive, psychosocial
RACGP flashcards: a revealed spaced-repetition card with Again, Hard, Good and Easy grading
10,309 cards. Spaced repetition. All 33 units.

Curriculum-mapped flashcard decks covering all 33 units of the RACGP 2022 curriculum, from cardiovascular disease to skin conditions to aged care. Spaced repetition targets the cards you're forgetting. Includes clinical vignette cards, drug profiles, screening intervals, and management algorithms.

  • Spaced repetition: review what you're forgetting, not what you know
  • 10,309 cards across all 33 RACGP 2022 curriculum units
  • Screening intervals, immunisation schedules, drug doses
  • MCQ drill mode for rapid-fire practice
  • One click from card to full study note
RACGP study note: a per learning objective note on cardiovascular presentations with red-flag guidance
333 study notes. GP-specific. One per LO.

333 sourced study notes across the RACGP 2022 curriculum, one for every covered learning objective. Written to a consistent seven-section format with general practice context throughout: when to refer, safety-netting language, MBS item numbers, and primary care management guidelines. Mapped to the 515 RACGP 2022 curriculum learning objectives.

  • 333 study notes across all 33 units, one per covered LO
  • GP-specific: referral thresholds, safety-netting, primary care guidelines
  • Referenced to RACGP, eTG, NPS MedicineWise, AHPRA guidelines

RACGP Fellowship format and structure: AKT, KFP and CCE

The RACGP Fellowship Examination (FRACGP) has three components. The Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) is a 150-question MCQ paper with two question types: Single Best Answer (5 options) and Modified Extended Match (8–10 options), assessing knowledge across clinical, communication, and organisational domains of GP. The Key Feature Problems (KFP) is 70 independent clinical stems answered on a bubble sheet by selecting multiple responses from a list (2–6 correct per stem); this multiple-selection format replaced the previous short-answer format from the 2025.2 sitting. The Competency-Based Clinical Examination (CCE) has 9 cases: 4 case discussions (the examiner talks through a clinical scenario with you, testing reasoning) and 5 clinical encounters (you consult with a trained role-player while an examiner observes), each with 5 minutes reading time and 15 minutes per case, conducted via Zoom. The RACGP 2022 curriculum has 33 units covering 515 learning objectives across the full scope of general practice. PRIMEX is built by Dr Jay Marshall, an anaesthetics registrar in Taree, NSW.
